Vision
Based in London at the centre of an international network of the world's leading design consultants and specialists, NEX is a new breed of multi-disciplinary design office that focuses on the intersection between architecture, infrastructure and urban design, and pursues innovation both in our design processes and in the environments we create. Our name is derived from the term nexus and refers to our approach of putting ourselves centre of a collaborative design and delivery process that links clients, consultants and fabricators through innovative computational models and technical platforms. Our integrated process explores new generative design potentials in architecture while also increasing cost and programme efficiencies during project realisation and this rigour allows us to work across multiple scales and sectors in international contexts.
We aim to combine a radical design philosophy with the pragmatics of real world constraints to produce work of enduring quality that is a coherent expression of the social, cultural, economic and environmental conditions that are specific to each project. Ultimately, we strive to produce highly functioning environments, which have an architectural intricacy and richness that makes them engaging and inspirational to use. To date our work has received numerous awards including a D&AD Yellow Pencil, a LEAF Award, and has been awarded in a number of international competitions. Current work includes two bridges in Dublin, a pavilion for the Liverpool Biennial, and residential projects in London.
Our clients come from both the public and private sector and we aim for results that coherently integrate their goals with our vision and capabilities. To date they include the following people and organisations:
