An experience in travel. The Kraika Loop Bridge explores not only the boundaries of structure and form, but the unique sensory experience of travel itself.
The bridge is located in a Unesco World Heritage site in Central Kiev. Its 200m long span over sails the tree canopy and gorge thirty meters below to connect Khreshchatyk and Volodymyrska parks and extend the Kraika Trail along the Dnieper river valley.
Its curved crossing and filigree structure enhances the act of travel for pedestrians and cyclists alike. Over the park, the splitting of the deck upwards and downwards offer users expansive views of some of Kiev’s most revered landmarks such as the National Philharmonic Hall and the Peoples Arch. Asymmetric tubular steel arches span the valley to form a lattice that redefines and frames the park below.
