Yorkshire Forum will be an exciting and dynamic enterprise space that represents Yorkshire Forward to communities across the region, and the UK. The arrival of the pavilion is intended to be an event in itself. From a distance its dramatic form and materials attract attention, while its mirrored roof surface will provide new reflections of its immediate surroundings.
The pavilion engages with the passing community with a sheltered outdoor space and generous steps that can be used for performances, while also inviting people inside. The interior space is designed support maximum programmatic flexibility.
The structure is designed to be lightweight and rapidly deployable. It is constructed from a simple deck and structural wall enclosure and covered by an inflated vault, meaning there is no aerial structural frame. The inflated membrane assists with the regulation of interior environmental conditions such as temperature control and acoustic performance.RELATED LINKS:
